William was born July 2, 1818, in Wythe Co. VA. He spent his childhood in Tennessee
and married in Jefferson Co. TN on Feb. 25, 1857 (age 39--second wife?) to Margaret
Ann Engle. Evidently they had no children--we can find no record. When William's
sister, Elizabeth Andruss Heaton died (ca. 1856-60), William and his wife took in
Harriet and William C. Heaton, ages 14 and 4. Harriet and William C. died early and
are buried at McFarlane "Hill" Cemetery near Russellville TN. Family records say that
William Andruss is buried at Hope, Hempsted Co., AR. Perhaps when the 1870 census
index is published more on this family will be disclosed. William was a tinner like
his father.
